Patriot Sprint Tour Returns to Southern Ontario for Completion of Northern Summer Nationals

ROCHESTER, NY (June 19, 2012)- The 2012 Patriot Sprint Tour has been alive for more than two months now; but this weekend a new chapter in PST history will begin to unfold.

This Friday and Saturday, events at Ohsweken Speedway and South Buxton Raceway will kick off the first half of the Northern Summer Nationals, in addition it will be the first two full-point races in the inaugural year of the PST Canada Series. The pursuit of the $5,000 Championship Payout for all PST races north of the border will begin to sort out with a host of names with their eyes on the title.

PST America point leader Bryan Howland and defending series champion Jared Zimbardi are two big names to consider this weekend and in the points race. Both drivers were at “The Big O” this past Friday in preparation for the first leg of the four-race Northern Summer Nationals this weekend.

Teammates Scott Kreutter and Todd Hoddick have been up to Ohsweken on multiple occasions this season but will be headed to South Buxton for the first time on Saturday.

Don Adamczyk and Steve Collins have been closing in on their first career wins and have a strong track record at Ohsweken. Could this be the breakthrough weekend for these two pilots?

This weekend will also be unique with those competitors that are focused on the PST Canada Championship. The throngs of contenders include Justin Barger, Alain Bergeron, Lee Ladouceur, Rick and April Wilson, Devin Caron, Travis Cunningham, Mitch Brown , Chris Durand, Glenn Styres, Jamie Collard, Keith Dempster and Dain Naida .

Ohsweken is off to a fast start already this season with their weekly Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint competition. Tom Huppunen, Chris Steele and defending champion Jim Huppunen are among the stars that have been fast thus far in 2012. Friday’s race will pay $2,000 to win.

On Saturday, South Buxton will be rocking, but it is a venue that many of the competitors are much less familiar with. With $3,000 up for grabs however, the fight is sure to be on. Some top names from Michigan such as Dustin Daggett should factor in, as well as the best of the Southern Ontario Sprints.
