Finishes 24th Individually at NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- In a field of 278 runners representing schools such as Indiana, Clemson, and Kansas State, senior Ethan Clary posted a time of 24:47.9 to finish 24th overall at the 2012 NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet, held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday.
Joseph Chebet of Western Kentucky was the individual winner, covering the 8k course in 23:56.7.
Chris Buchanan also finished in the top half of the runners, placing 63rd with a time of 25:25.7. James Sommer crossed the line in 25:41.3 for a 98th place finish for the Great Danes, also putting him among the top half of the field.
Ray Farinella finished in 26:22.7 for 165th place, while John DeLallo came in at 186th in 26:35.2. The Great Danes were also represented by Brandon Camenzuli (191st, 26:36.9), Ryan Florkiewicz (203rd, 26:45.7), Jonathan Moore (235th, 27:15.2), Craig Weiss (242nd, 27:33.1), Ryan Scarpelli (255th, 28:01.4), and Dylan Lowry (261st, 28:18.6).
UAlbany finished 15th as a team out of 24 squads. Indiana took the team title, followed by Eastern Kentucky, Akron, Dayton and Ohio. The Great Danes were joined at the meet by fellow America East Conference member New Hampshire.
