Andy Bachetti Dominates Again for 6th Win

West Lebanon, NY: A little natural ‘dust control’ fell very early on at the famed ½ dirt oval known as the Valley of Speed, but that did not deter the true race fans, as the racing was hot and heavy after just a 20 minute delay at the start. NBT Bank and Budweiser presented the action packed Night of Features this past Saturday night.
A couple of dominate drivers have taken over at the high banks as of late, Andy Bachetti in the Big Block Modifieds has been on a tear, taking his #34B to the top spot for a hand full of times so far this year. And in the Pro Stocks, Jay Corbin is matching win for win with Bachetti, driving his #8 to victory lane for the same amount of wins on the year. Do they both double down again this week?

The 104.9 the Cat Lap Counter flashed 30 laps for the Big Block Modifieds as the green flag flew over the #0 of Denny Soltis and the #16 of Kyle Hoffman. This feature was plagued right from the beginning by caution flags as the first come out with just 2 laps in the books.

Shop now!Soltis held the top spot until lap 8 when the #98 of Eddie Marshal jumped out to the lead, but the cautions flew again, slowing the field. Marshall held strong out front, but all the cautions, just gave Andy Bachetti even more opportunity to get to the front of the field.
By lap 14, the #34B got past Hoffman for 2nd, then just 3 laps later, passed the #98 for the top spot. And that was all she wrote. As the checkers flew, Bachetti put win #6 in the books, hard charging Brett Hearn finished 2nd, followed by Marshall, Hoffman and Kolby Schroder.
The full fendered division, known as the Pro Stocks, took to the high banks for their 20 lap feature event. Early on it was the #311 of Brian Keough holding court out front, but caution slowed this event early and often.
5 more cautions slowed the field before lap 10 was in the books, and that just kept the #8 of Jay Corbin within hunting range, as he powered his way to 2nd by lap 8, then passed the #311 at lap 10.
2 more cautions slowed the field again, but Corbin was too strong and powered away for his 6th win on the year as well. Jason Casey, Paul LaRochelle, Robbie Speed, and Nick Hilt battled it out to round out the top 5 finishers.
The Budget Sportsman feature event was last on the night, with Rob Maxon bringing the field to the green flag. Maxon held strong to the top spot through several early yellow flags, but just past halfway through the 20 lap affair, the #14 of John Virgilio powered on by, and charged out front of the field.
At the checkers, Virgilio scores his first win of 2013, Tommy Johnson came home 2nd, followed by Michael Sabia, Matt Pappa, and Tyler Dippel rounded out the top 5 finishers.
Earlier on the night, the other full fendered series took to the Valley of Speed. In the Purestock features, the winners were: Lou Ganczar in PS#1, Doug Olds in PS#2, and Jeff Meltz in PS#3.
This Sunday, July 21st, the Valley comes alive with the annual return of the STP World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series. CARQUEST will feature the nights affair along with the Small Block Modifieds, and special guest, 3 Time NASCAR Cup Champion Tony Stewart.
Then on Saturday July 27th, Sheldon Oil, Heavy Hauler, and VP Race Fuels present ‘Autograph Night’, along with the Bedell Race Engines $3,000 to Win Big Block Modified Feature plus 4 Cylinders.
