Cesar Puello Named June Player of the Month

BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Mets outfielder Cesar Puello has been named the Eastern League June Player of the Month. The Dominican Republic native won the Triple Crown in the month, leading the league in batting average (.441), home runs (8) and RBI (24).

Signed by the New York Mets as a non-drafted free agent in July 2007, Puello is in his first season with the Binghamton Mets. He, along with four teammates, will represent the B-Mets at this year’s Eastern League All-Star Game.

Shop now!Puello racked up 11 multiple-hit games during the month and compiled an .897 slugging percentage, the highest in the league by 167 percentage points. Thanks to his efforts, the B-Mets went 19-5 in the month, their best record in June in franchise history.

Puello and the B-Mets (53-32) conclude their five-game series against the Fisher Cats on Monday afternoon at 12:05 PM. LHP Darin Gorski makes the start against LHP Sean Nolin. The Horizon Federal Credit Union Pregame Show on ESPN 1360 WYOS begins at 11:50 AM.
