DIRTcar Pro Stocks in Quebec for Start of Series

Consecutive Race Nights July 6 and July 7 Make for Gripping Weekend

GRANBY and DRUMMOND, Quebec - July 1, 2012 - With two races in just two days, DIRTcar Pro Stock Series drivers are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting weekend Friday, July 6, and Saturday, July 7.

Friday's DIRTcar Pro Stock Inotrac/Pole Position Magazine 50-lapper at Autodrome Granby is the first race of the series after the series opener at Cornwall Motor Speedway rained out. The Cornwall opener, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 3, will instead occur Sunday, July 22.

Joey Ladoucer, 2011 DIRTcar Pro Stock Series champion, said he would have liked to have started the season earlier at his home track, but that he is still hopeful about the upcoming competitions.

"We run pretty good up at Granby and Drummund, so hopefully we can get a good start to the series, and try to repeat our championship from last year," said Ladoucer, who has a total of 107 career wins.

The half-mile track at Granby, Ladoucer said, allows drivers a great deal of speed but also requires technical skill to avoid collisions.

"It has walls on both sides and it's a little narrow. It's not very forgiving when there's an accident. You definitely have to stay on your toes there," said Ladoucer. "But it's got a lot of speed it's a big track, it's probably one of the fastest track you can see after Syracuse."

The next day's race at Autodrome Drummond may not have so narrow a track, but its 50 laps should be just as interesting.

"Drummond's a little more forgiving. There's a little more banking, room for error. You can venture to the outside a little more. You don't feel trapped in this tunnel of two walls," said Ladoucer, who has 16 total years of racing experience. "You've got a little more room, so guys get a little more creative with what they're going to try."
