ALBANY, N.Y.
-- UAlbany had five players recognized on the
2012 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Teams, as
announced by the National Field Hockey
Coaches' Association on Thursday.
America East Conference Offensive Player of the Year Daphne Voormolen, Goalkeeper of the Year
Kristi Troch, and all-conference first team members
Corrine McConville and Jessica Longstreth were
First-Team All-Northeast Region, while America East
Rookie of the Year Laura Page was an All-Region Second Team selection.
Each of the five regions nationally had 16
players recognized on each
first and second team. UAlbany's representatives were joined on the Northeast region squad by players from Boston College,
Northeastern, UMass, and America East rivals New Hampshire, Maine, and Boston U. The Great Danes had the most players of any team in the Northeast on the First
Team.
McConville and
Longstreth are repeat members of the All-Region First
Team. McConville, who was an NFHCA Division I All-American last
season,
also earned All-Region Second Team honors as a
freshman.
