PROVIDENCE, R.I. –
The University at Albany women’s tennis team
sent six players to Brown University over the weekend for the fall-season ending
Brown Indoor Invitational. The Great Danes played a total of 19 singles and

two-day tournament as the Buckeyes and Brown Bears showed their
might.

Elsewhere in competition, White won two
games in Flight 4 singles on Friday against Brown’s Nimita Uberoi. She was
defeated 8-2. Kukkonen was defeated, 6-3, 6-0 on Saturday in Flight 2 singles by
Ohio State’s Kara Cecil.
"The Brown
tournament was a great experience to compete against two teams that finished
last year in the nation's Top 65," said coach Gordon Graham. "Playing strong competition helps you raise
your level of play and I certainly saw that from our players. So, from
motivational, experiential and educational perspectives this weekend was
excellent. It helps our team only continue to improve heading into spring
conference play.”
UAlbany will spend the remainder of the fall semester practicing and conditioning in preparation for spring dual matches. They will look to improve on last season’s 10-13 record.
