Darin Gorski Named League Pitcher of the Week

BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Darin Gorski has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 19-25. Gorski went 1-0 and allowed just three earned runs over 14-2/3 innings in a pair of starts during the stretch. The southpaw struck out ten and held the Bowie Baysox and Akron Aeros to a .180 batting average.

Selected by the New York Mets in the 7^th round of the 2009 draft out of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Gorski is in his second season with the B-Mets. In 13 games (12 starts) this season in Binghamton, the Mount Joy, PA native has gone 5-1 with a 2.01 ERA. Gorski has fanned 62 batters over 71-2/3 innings and allowed a .179 opponent batting average.
Gorski and the B-Mets (82-52) start a four-game series against the Bowie Baysox on Monday night at 7:05 PM at Prince George’s Stadium.
