This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools in their history, with Syracuse leading 4-0-1. UAlbany earned a draw in the last meeting with a 1-1 tie in Syracuse in 2012.
The Great Danes are coming off a weekend in the Sunshine State, winning their season opener against Florida Atlantic 2-0 before falling to Florida Gulf Coast 5-0. The team will play their next six games in New York, including the home opener at Union College on September 8th vs. Hofstra at 1 p.m.
With the game-winning goal against Florida Atlantic, freshman back Anna Seneta was tabbed the America East Rookie of the Week. She earned the score on her first collegiate shot in the 38th minute against FAU off a pass from Aubrey VanGorder.
Friday will be the home opener for Syracuse. The Orange will play its first home game on Friday after competing in the Penn State Invitational, defeating Hofstra 3-2 and falling to West Virginia 2-1.
Fans wishing to attend the game may enter the SU Soccer Stadium free of charge.
