CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In just the
fourth week of America East Conference weekly women's lacrosse awards, the
University at Albany redshirt-freshman Rachel Bowles was named the conference's Rookie
of the Week, on Monday, March 11 by the conference office.
Bowles has begun the season on an offensive
surge, having scored in the first four games of the seasons, three of which have
been multi-goal performances. In the 9-8 overtime loss to No. 17 UMass, the
Cicero, N.Y. native tallied two goals in the contest for her eighth and ninth
goals of the season. Her nine goals are a team-best through the first four games
of the season.
The Great Danes continue the 2013 season at
home against George Mason on Wednesday, March 13 at John Fallon Field. The first
draw control will be slated for noon.
