Lyle Thompson Earns Second America East Conference Player of the Week Honor

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. -- Sophomore attackman Lyle Thompson earned his second America East Conference Player of the Week honor, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Thompson led the Great Danes to a 2-0 week and back into the national rankings.

Thompson racked up 12 points on five goals and seven assists, while also picking up seven ground balls in wins over #9/13 UMass and Canisius last week. In a 15-9 win over the Minutemen on Tuesday, he scored five goals and handed out three assists, while also picking up three groundballs. In a 12-11 victory over Canisius on Saturday, Thompson finished with four assists, including two on man-up opportunities to lead the Great Danes.

Thompson is producing a league-best 7.00 points per game this season, with 35 points on 12 goals and 23 assists. He is currently leading the country in points per game and is also tops nationally in assists per game, handing out 4.60 helpers per contest for the Great Danes.

Thompson and UAlbany will be back in action on Saturday, visiting Bryant for a 1 p.m. faceoff.
