Baseball Express

VESTAL, N.Y.—Binghamton senior first baseman Jordon Smucker has been named America East Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Smucker hit .313 and collected eight RBI in BU’s four-game sweep of host NC A&T over the weekend. The lefthanded hitter had a .625 slugging percentage and belted his league-leading third home run of the season. He also had two doubles and scored five runs as BU flexed its offensive muscle with 41 runs in the four games.

He leads the entire conference with 19 RBI (in 12 games) and already has six multi-RBI games and five multi-hit games this spring.
