Albany, N.Y. - The UAlbany men's lacrosse team will take on Stony Brook on Saturday April 28th at 7 pm at John Fallon field. The Great Danes and the Seawolves will compete in the last regular season America East Conference game of the season, with league championship and tournament seeding implications on the line. UAlbany defeated crosstown-rival Siena, 14-13, on Tuesday night. The Saints came out with an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter. The Great Danes were quick to comeback with a seven-goal streak starting in the second quarter, and held on for the win to end the game. Freshman goalkeeper Max Huber made 10 saves for the Great Danes, playing all 60 minutes.
Senior Joe Resetarits, who is first nationally among active players with a 46-game goal-scoring streak, scored five goals. Resetarits, a preseason All-American, is also third nationally with a 47-game point-scoring streak, and is fourth with 24 career hat tricks. The Thompson trio of Miles, Ty, and Lyle added a combined nine goals to edge out the Saints.
Stony Brook fell to Hartford, 11-10, in overtime, over the weekend. Junior Jeff Tundo, senior Robbie Campbell and sophomore Matt Bellando each added two goals apiece for the Seawolves. Campbell scored with 17 seconds left in the fourth, but the Hawks scored with just one second left of regulation to tie the game. The Great Danes and the Seawolves are tied for first place, along with UMBC, going into the final regular season game. They each hold a 3-1 league record. UAlbany needs to beat Stony Brook and have UMBC lose on the road to Binghamton to earn the top seed.
