Albany, NY - Senior Amanda Pollock's two goals and one assist were not enough as UAlbany fell to Stony Brook, 16-5, on Saturday, April 21 at John Fallon Field. The Great Danes, with the loss, fall to 2-3 in the America East Conference while Stony Brook improves t0 4-1. UAlbany currently is in a four-way tie for fourth with Vermont and New Hampshire at 2-3 in the conference with one game left in the season.
Stony Brook (12-4, 4-1 AE) quickly jumped out 5-1 lead with 11:03 remaining in the first half. Seawolf attack Michelle Rubino led the way with two goals and one assist during the stretch to give her team the early lead.
UAlbany (9-5, 2-3 AE) cut the deficit to three 5-2, as Amanda Pollock and Jess Antelmi hooking up for the second time in the half with 9:52 remaining. Antelmi tallied UAlbany's first goal with Pollock receiving the assist.
The Great Danes looked for some hope scoring two more goals, one by Mel rorie and one by Ariana Parker, to cut the deficit to nine, but Stony Brook would score two more of its own to hold on for the win.

The Seawolves extended their lead to six, 8-2, as half ended. Emily Mercier would score two of Stony Brooks three goals before the half ended with Rubino tallying her second assist in the game to give her four points at half.
Stony Brook came out in the second half just as it did in the first half, going on a 6-1 goal run to extend its lead to 11, 14-3 with 11:32 remaining in the game. The 11-goal lead would be the largest lead the Seawolves would have in the game.

UAlbany goalkeeper Anna Berman (8-5) would receive the loss for the Great Danes, tallying 5 saves on 15 chances. Stony Brook's goalkeeper Hannah perruccio (4-3) would record the win for the Seawolves, stopping seven of the 12 UAlbany shots. The Great Danes finish their 2012 schedule against Vermont on Saturday, April 28 at 1 pm. The winner of the contest will be the four seed in the America East Conference Tournament.
