NEW YORK’S COLLEGE TEAM EXTENDS RADIO PRESENCE IN ALBANY

WGY AM 810 AND 103.1 FM Will Continue to Broadcast Orange Football and Basketball Games


Syracuse University football and men’s basketball will continue its strong radio presence in Albany through 2016-17. Syracuse IMG Sports network stations News Talk WGY AM 810 and 103.1 FM will remain the radio home for SU football and men’s basketball games and FOX Sports WOFX 980 AM will broadcast select games and air Syracuse’s football and men’s basketball coaches’ radio shows.


“We are excited to extend our relationship with WGY and provide the Capital Region’s Orange fans the ability to hear full coverage of New York’s College Team,” said Joe Baldini, General Manager, Syracuse IMG Sports Network.


Since 2001, WGY has served as the Capital Region’s radio home for Syracuse athletics. Coverage has included Syracuse’s run in the 2002-03 Men’s Basketball National Championship, as well as the football team’s three postseason bowl games in that time period.

Voice of the Orange Matt Park ’97 joined the radio network in 2002-03 and became the play-by-play voice of the football and men’s basketball teams and host of the Doug Marrone and Jim Boeheim shows in 2004-05. The native of Chittenango, N.Y. has also been a broadcaster in professional baseball, including stints in Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton, Auburn and the San Diego Padres.
