The Great Danes drew three more walks in the top of the third and was followed with an Alexa Toole sacrifice fly to right to go up 3-1. Stony Brook (37-15-1) would add three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, 4-3, to grab its first lead of the game. Nicole Hagerty and and Jessica Combs would each record solo home runs. Then a throwing error by Danes third baseman Lauren Alcorn allowed the inning to continue and Lauren Kamachi grounded out to third but drove in the go-ahead run.
UAlbany would tie the game up in the top of the fifth with a lead-off walk by Castro and an RBI-single from Alcorn. Stony Brook's Hagerty hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, which was her second of the game and game-winning RBIs to keep the Seawolves in the winner's bracket. Brittany MacFawn (18-6) fell victim to the long ball, allowing four home runs in six innings. MacFawn gave up six runs (five earned) on nine hits and struck out two.
Allison Cukrov (25-8), the America East Conference Pitcher of the Year, pitched seven innings of four-run ball. Cukrov gave up a season-worst 11 walks and struck out five.
