Cambridge, Mass.- UAlbany shortstop Alexa
Toole was named America East Conference Rookie of the Week, which is voted on by
the conference office. Toole batted .357 with three home runs and six runs
batted in for the Great Danes, who went 3-2 for the week.
Toole, a South Glens Falls, N.Y.
native, is having an impressive rookie campaign, hitting .349 on the season,
which is second best on the team and eighth in the conference. The freshman
shortstop is third on the team in RBIs (30) and homeruns (6), her RBI total is
fifth best in the conference.
Toole and the rest of the Great Danes are the No. 3 seed in the America East Conference Tournament and will face the No. 2 seed Stony Brook in the Semifinals on Thursday, May 10 in Boston, Mass.
