Cambridge, Mass.- UAlbany freshman Sarah
Iannone was named to the 2012 America East Conferenec Tennis All-Academic Team,
which was voted on by a committee of SIDs, academic advisors and faculty
representatives from all nine member institutions. This was Iannone's first time
being selected and fourth Great Dane overall in tennis to be
selected.
Iannone, a North Vancouver, British
Columbia native, mainly played at the No. 5 singles and was paired up with
Aubrey Brooks in the No. 3 doubles. The freshman No. 5 sinlges player was the
only player to win both her respective matches against Stony Brook, in the first
round of the America East Championships, at the No. 5 singles and No. 3
doubles.
The Great Danes finished the 2011-12 season 11-14 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
