Albany, N.Y.- UAlbany women's lacrosse will
play the No. 1 overall seed Florida Gators in the first round of the NCAA
Tournament on Saturday, May 12 at 1 pm at Gainsville, Fla. This is the Great
Danes second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
UAlbany advanced to the NCAA
Women's Lacrosse Quaterfinals last season, after defeating Dartmouth in the
first round, 10-7. The Great Danes fell to the eventual NCAA Tournament Champion
Northwestern, 18-4, in the quarterfinals.
Florida, just its third year of existences in women's lacrosse, defeated No. 1 ranked Northwestern, 14-7, to win its first American Lacrosse Conference Tournament Championship and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Gators finished the season 17-2 overall and 5-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference.
