A Trio of Great Danes Score Four Goals En Route To A-East Semifinal Win Over Boston U.

Boston, Mass.- Rachael Burek, Mel Rorie and Amanda Pollock each tally four goals as No. 4 seed UAlbany defeats No. 1 Boston U., 15-9, on Thursday, May 3 at Nickerson Field. The Great Danes will look to capture their second consecutive America East Conference Title on Saturday, May 5 against the winner of Stony Brook and UMBC.

UAlbany(11-5) opened up the game with a 2-1 lead with 15:10 remaining in the first half. Burek recorded the Great Danes first two goals, both of which were assisted by Ariana Parker.
Boston U. (11-6) responded back with 3-1 run to go up 4-3 with 6:49 left in the first half. Molly Swain, Mallory Collins and Danielle Estrasco each tallied a goal during the run.
The Great Danes would finish out the half with two goals in 33 seconds to lead 6-5 at the half. Rorie and Parker each tallied a goal. The Great Danes out shot the Terriers, 8-6, and scooped up more ground balls, 4-2, at the half.

The Terriers began the second half with a goal by Swain in the first 28 seconds to tie the game, 6-6.
UAlbany then went on an offensive power surge, scoring six straight goals in 10 minutes to go up 12-6 with 18:13 remaining in the game. Burek would record three points, two goals and one assist along with two points from Parker (1 goal, 1 assist).

Boston U. looked to cut into the lead with three goals, 13-9, but it was insurmountable as UAlbany would hold onto the lead to advance to the finals.

Great Dane goalkeeper Anna Berman (10-5) recorded just four saves on 13 chances en route to her 10th win of the season. Terrier goalkeeper Kim Elsworth (1-1), who replaced Christina Sheridan in the second half, was saddled with the loss recording two saves in the game.
